Golf Cart Battery Cost Calculator

Choose the pack voltage, the battery type, and whether the cables need work, and the calculator shows the typical installed range for a cart in Griffin, Sun City Peachtree, or the nearby towns. It is built from the pricing page and asks for nothing in return.

Before trusting any battery number, it helps to know that a cart which “needs batteries” sometimes does not. A failed charger, a corroded charge port, or a pack that simply ran flat over the winter can all look like a dead pack. The won’t charge and won’t go after winter storage pages explain how to tell, and a load test settles it.

How each choice moves the price

Voltage moves it most. A 36V cart uses six 6-volt batteries and is the least expensive pack to replace. A 48V cart uses either six 8-volt or four 12-volt batteries, and the two price about the same, so choose whichever matches what is in the cart.

Battery type comes next. Premium flooded batteries cost a couple of hundred dollars more than value batteries for the same cart and generally last longer if they are watered. Lithium is a different product: it costs more up front, needs no watering, weighs much less, and holds its power to the end of the charge.

Cables and terminals are the add-on that most often surprises owners. A cart kept where it stays damp builds corrosion on its lugs, and a new pack on corroded cables underperforms from day one.

Griffin-specific things a calculator cannot see

  • Cold-season storage. The NOAA normals station at Experiment, about a mile and a half from the center of Griffin, averages 51.8 nights a year at or below freezing. A lead-acid pack parked for the winter on a partial charge can sulfate, which shortens its life no matter what it cost.
  • Summer water loss. The same station averages 39.1 days a year at 90°F or above. Flooded batteries need water more often in July than in March.
  • Always-on lights. A cart registered for Griffin’s city roads must have its head and tail lamps on at all times (Code of Griffin Sec. 90-214(h)). That steady load favors a stronger pack or a lithium conversion on a cart used daily.

Estimator

What will a new golf cart battery pack cost?

Three choices. The ranges come from the pricing page, so this matches what you would be quoted before each battery is load-tested.

Estimated range Typical Griffin pricing, before anyone visits

Installation, cable and terminal inspection, watering of flooded batteries, a charger output check, and recycling of the old batteries are included. The $50 to $100 service call is applied toward the job. Choosing 36V lowers the range by $200 because a six 6-volt set costs less. A lithium conversion includes a charger made for lithium.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do these numbers come from?

The pricing page: $1,200 to $1,600 for a 36V six-battery lead-acid set, $1,400 to $1,800 for 48V, and lithium conversions at $1,600 to $2,200 for 50 to 60Ah or $2,500 to $3,500 for 100Ah and up. The calculator adds the lines that match your choices.

How do I tell if my cart is 36V or 48V?

Count the batteries and the filler caps. Six batteries with three caps each are 6-volt batteries, a 36V pack. Six with four caps each, or four with six caps each, make 48V. A photo of the compartment works too.

Should I pick lithium for a cart kept in an unheated Griffin garage?

It can work well, but ask how the pack handles charging below freezing. Many lithium packs block charging under 32°F, and the NOAA normals station near Griffin averages 51.8 nights a year at or below that.

Do I need to give an email to see the price?

No. The range updates as you choose, and sending it to the quote form is optional.
