Golf Cart Repair Pricing in Griffin
These are typical installed price ranges for golf cart repair at your home in Griffin, Sun City Peachtree, and the surrounding towns. A lead-acid battery pack runs $1,200 to $1,800, a lithium conversion $1,600 to $3,500, brake work $75 to $400, tires $75 to $150 each, a solenoid $100 to $250, a charger $300 to $800 if it has to be replaced, and lighting work $75 to $400. The $50 to $100 service call covers the on-site diagnostic and is applied toward any repair you approve. The firm number comes after the cart is tested, and it is given before any work starts.
The service call
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Service call, anywhere in the service area | $50 to $100 |
| On-site diagnostic: battery load test, pack voltage, charger output, cable voltage drop, solenoid and controller checks | Included |
| Applied toward the repair if you go ahead | Yes |
Where a home falls in that range depends on distance. Barnesville, about 15 miles south-southeast of Griffin in a straight line, and Zebulon, about 11 miles south-southwest, are the farthest towns covered here.
Battery packs
| Pack | Typical installed price |
|---|---|
| 36V lead-acid (six 6-volt batteries) | $1,200 to $1,600 |
| 48V lead-acid (six 8-volt or four 12-volt) | $1,400 to $1,800, premium flooded brands at the top |
| Lithium conversion, 48V, 50 to 60Ah | $1,600 to $2,200 |
| Lithium conversion, 100Ah and up | $2,500 to $3,500 |
| One battery on a pack under about two years old | Quoted per battery, after the others are load-tested |
Installed means the batteries, cables and terminals inspected and coated, a full watering on flooded packs, hold-downs tightened, a test drive, and the old batteries taken away for recycling. A lithium conversion includes a charger made for lithium. The battery replacement page and the battery cost calculator cover the lead-acid versus lithium choice. One Griffin-specific note: a cart that must run its head lamps and tail lamps every time it is on a city road carries a constant extra load, so a pack that is borderline in a cart used only on private property may fall short on a street-registered PTV.
Brakes and tires
| Job | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Brake adjustment | About $75 |
| Brake shoes and/or drums | $100 to $250 |
| Full brake overhaul (shoes, drums, cables, hardware) | $200 to $400 |
| Tire, installed | $75 to $150 each |
| Set of four tires, installed | $300 to $600, more for lifted or low-profile setups |
Griffin’s equipment list calls for a braking system “including a parking brake,” so a parking brake that will not hold is a compliance problem on a registered cart, not only a safety one. Details on the brakes and tires page.
Electrical and drive
| Job | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Solenoid replacement | $100 to $250 |
| Speed controller replacement | $300 to $600 |
| Motor repair or replacement | $300 to $1,000 |
| Charge port or minor charger repair | $100 to $300 |
| Charger replacement | $300 to $800 |
| Cable and terminal service (corrosion, voltage drop) | Quoted, usually under $150 |
Cable and terminal work matters more here than the price suggests. The NOAA normals station at Experiment, just north of Griffin, averages 54.19 inches of precipitation a year, with every month between 3.31 and 5.27 inches, so a garage never gets a long dry spell. Corroded lugs and charge-port pins add resistance that looks exactly like a weak battery, which is why a voltage-drop test is part of every diagnostic. See motor and controller repair and charger repair.
Lights and PTV equipment
| Job | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Lighting circuit repair (switch, fuse, wiring, one lamp) | $75 to $150 |
| Brake light or turn signal repair, flasher and switch included | $100 to $250 |
| Full light kit install (head lamps, tail lamps, brake lights, signals, horn) | $250 to $400 plus the kit |
| Mirror and reflex reflectors (front, rear, sides) | Quoted, usually under $100 installed |
| Horn, reverse warning beeper, or key switch | Quoted after diagnosis |
Griffin’s Sec. 90-217 list (head lamps, tail lamps, reflectors on front, rear, and sides, horn, rearview mirror, reverse warning device, main power switch, parking brake, hip restraints and hand holds) is what most of this table is priced against. The lights and street-legal equipment page and the street rules page explain each item.
Tune-ups
| Cart | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Electric tune-up: watering and load test, terminals, brakes, tires, lights, connections | $100 to $200 |
| Gas tune-up: adds oil, plugs, filters, belt | $150 to $300 |
| Pre-winter storage check | Same as a tune-up |
The pre-winter check exists because of the station’s 51.8 nights a year at or below freezing. A pack that goes into storage fully charged and gets a maintenance charge through the cold months comes out in spring far healthier than one parked half full. Gas carts in Griffin also have an exhaust rule: Sec. 90-216 requires a working exhaust and a cart that does not backfire. See the tune-up service page.
What moves a price inside its range
- Voltage and battery grade. A 48V pack of premium 8-volt batteries costs more than a 36V pack of value 6-volts.
- Cart age and type. Newer carts can use different controllers, onboard chargers, and battery-management systems than an older Club Car or E-Z-GO, so give the make and model.
- Lifted and modified carts. Bigger tires and aftermarket parts add cost and sometimes labor.
- Corrosion. A cart stored where it stays damp often needs cables replaced along with batteries.
- Distance. Distance changes the service call, not the repair price. A solenoid costs the same in Hampton as in downtown Griffin.
What is not on this list
Factory warranty work. This is an independent service, not an authorized dealer for Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha, or any other brand, so a cart under warranty should go back to its dealer. And an expensive repair on a worn-out cart is not quoted just because it can be; sometimes the honest answer is to put the money toward a newer cart.
Getting your number
Send the brand, the model year if known, the number of batteries, gas or electric, and what the cart is doing. A photo of the battery compartment helps most. The FAQ answers the questions that usually come up next, and the repair cost calculator gives a range right now.
